Snipi Launches A Ning App

As part of the Ning Appathon, Snipi is launching its own Ning App. The Ning App we’ve developed lets Ning Network Creators add any one of their “streams” from Snipi.com to a canvas page in their Ning Network. Using any one of the Snipi Tools (Snipi Toolbar for Firefox or the Snipi Bookmarklet for Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari), users can navigate to virtually any page on the Internet and capture products, photos and videos right off of that page. When users send the product, photo or video to their stream, it will instantly appear in their Ning Network.

This is the simplest and easiest way for Ning Network Creators to share their favorite finds from anywhere on the web, right in their Ning Network. Ning Network Creators can also let their users join in and contribute their finds to the stream. There’s so much more to Snipi but we won’t get into that here.  Just watch our Tutorial Videos and you’ll get the full picture.

The Ning App will be available shortly.

For support, please check our dedicated Ning App page on this blog. To learn more about Snipi, please watch our Tutorial Videos. You may also email us at support [at] snipi [dot] com.

Since we were in a mad rush to get this Ning App completed, you may find some bugs. Rest assured, we’ll get them resolved. Also, keep up with the Snipi Ning App as we’ll be updating it regularly to make it even beefier.

Enjoy!

We’re Streamin….

Without making too much of a fuss, we quietly launched streams on Snipi.com. While we wanted to roll this out slowly to see how well they were adopted, there’s been a flurry of action without much of an announcement.

Streams are a way for you to share and collaborate on all the things your interested in. Using any one of Snipi’s tools to literally capture products, photos or videos off of virtually any web page, you can send your items to a stream. A stream can be about a general interest or a specific topic. It’s up to you. You can create as many streams as you’d like and a stream can be about anything. Your friends can follow your stream, or, you can let people join your stream to contribute content to it. Each stream has its own unique URL, and every stream has complete administrative control – so you can dictate who contributes and what shows in the stream.

Check out this video to see what a quick overview of what it’s all about now…

Here are some examples of streams people have been creating.

Stream of Fail Photos and Videos

Stream of Recipes

Stream of Design Inspiration

Stream of Wedding Ideas

Stream of Sports Brawls

The list goes on.

And, if you have a website or blog, you can post the stream anywhere.  Just copy the embed code from your stream – and place it almost anywhere online.

Here’s an example of a stream, embedded in a blog posting. Click on any one of the items to see most of the details, without having to leave this page:

Hope you all enjoy what we’ve done. Looking forward to bringing you more innovations.

Snipi Public Beta is Live!

Sometime in early 2006, the team at Omeda Design + Technology sat down to brainstorm. From that meeting, an idea, a new company, and ultimately a new product would be born.  While Omeda provided stellar creative, design and web development services and to its clients (and continues to today), we wanted to show the world [...]
